Running Live Standups

Scrummy's Live Standup Mode helps teams run efficient daily standups with AI-powered insights.

What is Live Standup Mode?

Live Standup Mode is a structured way to run daily standups:

  • Each team member shares Yesterday, Today, and Blockers
  • Timer keeps everyone on track
  • AI generates summaries and detects blockers

Starting a Standup

  1. Go to your Dashboard
  2. Click Start Standup on the Standup tile
  3. Select participants and order
  4. Click Start

During the Standup

For Each Participant

  1. Their turn is highlighted with a timer
  2. They share:
    • Yesterday: What they completed
    • Today: What they plan to work on
    • Blockers: Any issues blocking progress
  3. Click Next when done

Timer Settings

  • Default: 2 minutes per person
  • Customize in Settings > Standup

Participant Order

Choose from:

  • Random: Shuffled order each day
  • Alphabetical: A-Z by name

After the Standup

AI Summary

When complete, AI generates:

  • Overview of the standup
  • Top focus areas for the day
  • Blocker highlights with suggested actions

Detected Blockers

Blockers are automatically tracked:

  • Age badges show how long they've existed
  • Escalation for aging blockers (4+ days)
  • Link to Linear/Jira issues when integrated

Integration with Sprint Tools

With Linear or Jira connected:

  • Select which sprint/cycle the standup is for
  • See sprint progress in the dashboard
  • Auto-detect blockers from your tools

Best Practices

  1. Keep it brief - 2 minutes per person is enough
  2. Focus on blockers - these need attention
  3. Use the timer - respect everyone's time
  4. Review AI summary - share it with the team
